Bottling instructions (4 liter)

----------------------------

PREPARATION:

Use the following to bottle your beer:

• Some sugar
• Disinfectant solution (sanitizer)
• Bottle capper and caps

• Roughly 12 empty 33 cl bottles, preferably brown

-----------------------------

1. SANITIZE

• Start by washing all the bottles

• Mix the rest of the sanitizer with 5 liters of water. Use a big bucket if possible.

• Fill some of the diluted sanitizer into each bottle and shake. Wait for about a minute.

• Now sanitize the rest of the equipment you will use – bottle capper, caps, siphon and a pot.

2. MAKE A SUGAR SOLUTION

• This step creates the carbonation in the beer. Don't use all the sugar solution if you end up with less than 4l of wort.

• Add 1 dl of water in a pot. Add 1/3 dl of sugar and bring to a boil. Once boiling, remove and let it cool down.

3. EMPTY THE FERMENTER

• You will now transfer the wort from the fermenter to a large pot. Make sure your siphon has been sterilized. Place the siphon in the fermenter - avoid the bottom sediment.

• Put the fermenter on the countertop and the pot on the floor.

• Attach the short and solid plastic tube (mouthpiece) on the siphon and create a suction flow. Release the pressure and transfer all the wort from the fermenter - avoid the bottom sediment!

4. BOTTLING

• When the beer is in the pot, pour in the priming sugar solution and mix it with a spoon.

• Put the pot of beer and the prima on the counter and the bottles on the floor. Place a newspaper under the pot and bottles (it can get messy).

• Wash and sanitize the siphon again.

• Place the siphon in the pot. Put the plastic tube in the bottle and start the suction flow with the siphon, just like before.

• Fill the bottle. Leave 2-3 cm of air at the very top of the bottle. Move on to the next bottle by stopping the flow by closing off the tube and continue filling the rest of the bottles in the same way.

5. CAPPING

• Cap the bottles and let them sit in the dark (not in the fridge) for 14 days.

BREW, BRAG AND ENJOY!

You have now made your very own beer!
When the bottles have sat for 14 days, put them in the fridge and enjoy your own homebrewed beer with friends!
